A heartbeat service is used to periodically check the status of the Service and determine whether it is available.
Two synthetic canaries monitor the 2x QVA APIs against our >99% availability target. They run every 5 minutes 24/7 and check the availability of the three collections, ensuring that the retrieval of payloads for our 3x collections are successful and timely:

The synthetic canaries are not designed to check every single payload response. However, they have been selected to provide sufficient indication about the health of the Service and its underlying capabilities, and to orient any required investigation.
